Britain’s Got Talent might be lagging behind The Voice in the popularity stakes but help is at hand, or rather paw, for Simon Cowell.
A six-year-old dog named Pudsey emerged this weekend as the favourite to WIN BGT – and restore the ITV programme to supremacy in the Saturday night ratings war.
With teenage handler Ashleigh Butler, Pudsey performed an energetic routine to the theme tune from the Flintstones.
He pranced about on his back legs, threaded through Ashleigh’s legs and leapt into the air, enthralling the watching Cowell.
For the music mogul, who watches cartoons every day and has pledged to leave all his money to animal charities, the performance came as a welcome treat. Cowell called Pudsey ‘one of the best dancing dogs I have ever seen’.
