SAKYI,A 32 YEAR OLD HUMAN PARTS DEALER HAS BEEN ARRESTED

A 32-year-old, Kweku Sakyi, has been arrested for attempting to sell human parts to a supposed Alhaji at Madina in Accra.

The suspect, a driver and a resident of Larteh in Akuapim, was offering for sale four pieces of dried bones which he had kept in his custody of the past five months.

Briefing The Finder in Accra yesterday, the Accra Regional Crime Officer, Superintendent Emmanuel Frank Adufati, said Sakyi was arrested on Tuesday, March 6 at about 5:00am.

He said according to Sakyi, he (Sakyi) and two other were employed by a herbalist (name withheld) to uproot some stumps to make way for building project.

In the course of executing the role, they found the bones in the sand and decided to keep them.

Sakyi contacted a friend and told him of his intention to sell the bones. The friend told him that he knew an ‘Alhaji’ who could buythe bones in Accra.

They met the said Alhaji and upon a tip off, Sakyi was arrested.

Supt. Adufati said when interrogated, Sakyi stated that the place where he found the bones was an abandoned cemetery which had been out of use for several decades.

According to Sakyi, he had not dealt in that business before so he could not say the amount he was going to get for the bones.

Supt. Adufati said the case was being transferred to Larteh Akuapim where the exhibits were taken from for further actions.
